Hey! I’m Maggie May.

No, I'm not named after the Rod Stewart song. I'm a working writer traveling the US with my super-mutt, Piglet. In 2021, finances got in the way of accepting my place in a low-residency MFA program, so I started this blog as a way to share my adventures, stay accountable to my writing, and get an education on the road. In 2023, I was a remote student in The Loft’s Year-Long Novel Writing Project with instructor Peter Geye. And in March of 2024, I found out I’d been accepted to the University of Alaska, Fairbanks! The Highway MFA is a place for writing resources, tips on starting (and finishing) projects, and navigating the submission world. Stay tuned for updates as I make my move to ALASKA in August 2024!
