Mile Marker #2: Silly Goose on the Loose!

In which: Maggie laughs about not sticking to bedtimes and submitting to a cozy horror anthology.

I’m here to report I’ve been BULLIED. Not really. Well, kinda. But lovingly.

My friend Cy said her other writer friends have been bullying her into submitting a short story to this “cozy horror anthology” coming out in October. So naturally, she had to bully me as well.

Yesterday was a really good writing day! I got about 2,000 words done both in back-edits and new writing. (Actually I think it was all back-edits, but a lot of it was new writing for those back-edits? Lol.)

I got tired at 9 and thought I was going to go to bed early but instead I stayed up until 12:30 AM writing a 4,000-word short story in one sitting. I was giggling the whole time because combining cozy and eldritch horror is, like, super satisfying and I had no idea I would have so much fun with this.

I’m sending the story around for edits and need to submit it by August 11th, but I’m pretty darn happy with that first draft. So, we’ll see what happens!

Today I’ve got the rest of that client project to finish (ugggghhhhh) but then I’m planning on spending most of the weekend reading, writing, and relishing this glorious AC while I house-sit for my sister.

PIT LOVE ETHEL. EVERYTHING WILL BE O.K.

Til next time,
Mags
