Mile Marker #3: The Silly Goose Got Sick

In which: Maggie coughs a lot, but is rather proud of themself.

I clicked the button! The scary button! I submitted my short story to that anthology and I’m very excited to hear back on it. Even if it doesn’t get selected, I had so much fun writing it that I’m happy I went through the process regardless. The submission window closes on Friday so I’m hoping I hear back relatively quickly. We shall see!

In other news, I am back from Gen Con, minus a very heavy box of stickers and a significant amount of money, and carrying board games, a plethora of art, and a delightful “con crud” cold. Luckily it’s not COVID, although 2 people in my 6-person hotel room did test positive, so I’m not sure how that works. I’ve tested negative twice now, but I’m finally starting to feel better. I’m down to just a nasty cough and feeling like my head/ears/nose are full of snot (delightful, hello to anyone reading for the first time).

I’m taking one more day to rest and relax before I dive back into work and whatnot. I’m fighting the urge to go back to sleep because I think I slept like 21 of the last 24 hours… that’s what being sick, pulling an all nighter because your flight got cancelled, and tumbling into bed at 8:30 AM will do to a person.

Because I was at Gen Con, I didn’t get any writing time in, but I did get back on the editing horse today. I’m pet sitting again this weekend and I DON’T have an enormous client project breathing down my neck, so I expect to use that time for more writing.

Or, if I just spend the weekend playing video games, that’s cool too. I deserve a breather.

Til next time,
Mags
